On February 18, 2023, Jonathan Steven Holloway departed his earthly home and went to his Heavenly Home to be with the Lord at the young age of 38 years old. He was the son of Joan Holloway and was born in Providence, RI.

Jonathan attended Providence Christian Academy under the leadership of the late Pastor Nathaniel and First Lady Witcher. He also was a student of Faith Christian Academy under the leadership of the late Bishop Annie Johnson. Jonathan then moved on and was home schooled for several years by his mother Joan. He entered Masters Regional Academy a private school, from where he graduated. Jonathan graduated from CCRI with an Associates Degree in Business, and he was currently attending College Unbound where he was pursuing his Bachelors Degree in Business expecting to graduate in 2023.

Jonathan worked at Lowe’s and then as a line cook at Bone Fish, where his passion for cooking was enhanced after working with his mother in the kitchen for many years. His dream was to start a business as a chef with his own food truck with the “Katie’s Classic Soul Food” named after his grandmother Katie Holloway. He wanted to dedicate a couple of days a week to feed those in need. At Thanksgiving, Jonathan came up with the idea to cook turkeys and make sandwiches to pass out along with fruit and water. He and his mom would travel around the city and pass out sandwich bags to whomever was in need.

Family ties were very important to Jonathan. He was a Loving and Caring young man who would give the shirt of his back. One of his favorite moto was “Today is a good day:.

Jonathan was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and it spread to many parts of his body. After battling this disease for a year God healed him and he was cancer free for 1½ years.

Jonathan was a member of Faith and Deliverance Tabernacle of God Church. He served the Lord, his church and Pastor faithfully, and he was very humble. He held the position of an Exhorter and one of the Pastor’s Assistants, and he was her right hand. Jonathan also served as a Sunday School Teacher, a teacher on a the daily 12 Noon Strength for Today Prayerline, and also a Deacon for many years before being elevated to Exhorter. He loved his church under the Leadership of his aunt Bishop Patricia B. Smith, and he affectionately called her “Auntie Bishop”

Besides his mother, Jonathan leaves behind to cherish his memory his siblings, Federick and his spouse (Malaydis) of Providence, RI: Cindy of Moore, OK; Syrie of East Providence, RI; Jermaine of Cranston, RI; Ariel of Newark, NJ; Alicia of MN; Briana of Pawtucket, RI, and a host of aunts, uncles cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, February 25th from 11:00 - 12:00pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by Home-Going Celebration at 12:00pm. Burial will be Private.
